Download the Holtz program (source or binary)

Binary Packages:

  • Windows binary (holtz-1.4.1-win32.zip) - just extract and run - (MD5: 833e5fe07d49e67009cb5ea6d60e7512)
  • Windows binary (holtz-1.5.0-win32.zip) - just extract and run - (MD5: 5f0cfaee8477eb9b1965356cd86beeb9)
  • Linux binaries (mostly rpm based distributions) can be found here (see below, since this is a community package, you need to click some red show buttons)

Sourcecode:

  • Source (holtz-1.4.1.tar.gz) - source prepared with autotools, requires: wxWidgets 2.8.4 or later - (MD5: 1ae9a54747a6c502ff821bd6bbda5299)
  • Source (holtz-1.5.0.tar.gz) - source prepared with autotools, requires: wxWidgets 3.0.0 or later - (MD5: 5f51606cfc8367ae9dd70a5edef58a88)
  • RPM source package (holtz-1.4.1-1.src.rpm) - to compile a package for your RPM distribution, requires: wxWidgets 2.8 or later - (MD5: 4ad13e1cba56118fdd353a41a3e8a10e)
  • RPM source package (holtz-1.5.0-lp150.1.1.src.rpm) - to compile a package for your RPM distribution, requires: wxWidgets 3.0 or later - (MD5: 43716324ec9946866e3be489ecdacaa6)

Note: For compiling the sourcecode you either need to install a development package of wxWidgets (e.g. wxGTK-devel, wxWidgets-devel, libwxgtk2.6-dev, or libwxgtk2.8-dev) or download source directly from the wxWidgets homepage. Holtz was only tested with wxWidgets 2.8. When using "./configure --enable-wx_2_6" the source should be compatible with wxWidgets 2.6 as well.

Binary packages for other Linux distributions:

More binary packages for Fedora, Mandriva, and various SuSE distributions can be found at opensuse build service. You need to select your desired distribution and click "show community packages". Please report your experiences when using one of these packages since they are not intensively tested. However, since it instantly worked on OpenSuSE 11.4 and Fedora14, I am confident, that all SuSE, Fedora, and Mandriva packages should indeed work.

If you like the game, please leave a positive review on the sourceforge page.

I am still looking for someone who can help me compile holtz for Debian and Ubuntu. Please email windiana@users.sf.net

Older versions:

Older versions can be found on the download page of the Holtz project hosted by sourceforge.

Feedback:

Descriptions of reproducible bugs and compiled packages for other distributions / operating Systems are always welcome. I am desperately looking for someone with knowlege about Debian and Ubuntu packaging. Please email windiana@users.sf.net.
